Thanks for putting your letters to your local Councillors. We have received two positive replies to date from Councillors who will bid for squash courts. However we must not be complacent, so please keep them coming!

Well done to everyone who attended the Children in Need Squashathon last Friday evening, which raised nearly £300, and a big thanks to Simon Cross for organising it!

The squash club had a major fundraising success recently with the races night christmas event, raising £1000 for Help for Heroes. We received a personalised letter of thanks.

The junior squash course (with coach Leckie Dow, see left) is now full up and underway. Six of the 10 attendees are the children of club members.

We are delighted to inform you that the Club has a new coach from within its ranks. Pete Bendall has recently qualified as a level one coach. This means that as a Club Member, Pete can help you work on your game (his game has certainly improved). All you have to do is contact him (he is an Expressions Member so you only have to cover your side of the court cost and maybe give him something for his petrol).

If you are a little reticent about using Eddie Charlton, our Club Pro (see below!), then this may be the way to get those tips to improve your game, in an informal way.

The interest in team squash has been so strong that they are fielding a 3rd team next season, as well as a team in the Notts Summer Leagues.

Squash is a great way to get fit, and to meet new social networks. The club has been running at Rushcliffe Leisure Centre since 1976. It runs a members monthly league catering for all standards of squash, coaching, and the opportunity to play in the Nottinghamshire leagues, club competitions and social evenings. Club membership at only £38 per annum offers exceptional value, from a club run voluntarily by members for members.

Professional Squash Coach - Eddie Charlton

The Club is delighted to introduce its own professional coach, who is available for coaching on an individual, or group basis.

Eddie has been playing squash for 7 years and ranked nationally for the last 4. He was top 5 throughout under 19's and number 5 in Europe. He has been playing on the professional tour for nearly a year now and played in Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and all over Europe. He is currently ranked number 218 and hopes to be top 175 by the end of this year. He is also available to string rackets and get new rackets if required.
